This drinking horn is based on the archaeological find from Castle Douglas(Dhùghlais), Scotland. The horn terminal is dated to the 13th century. Even though it's origin is in Scotland post viking age, the similarity to many other Norse drinking horns suggests that it is based on a much older original influenced by the Viking settlers of the nearby Isle of Man or Northern Isles. The original is currently being kept at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh, but now you can own a horn just like it!

Drinking horns were some of the most used beverage vessels in the viking age. It was for a practical and even ritual use as told in the old Sagas. This lightweight, durable, cattle horn is polished and sealed with food safe conditioner, wax and oil to ensure long term freshness and to prevent leaking and gamey smell/taste.
