Norman Bayeux Tapestry Flag

This flag is based on an image from the Bayeux Tapestry. The original tapestry is 70 meters long and was embroidered in the 11th century. It depicts the events leading up to the Norman Conquest of England in 1066, led by William the Conquerer who was a descendant of the famous Viking Duke 'Rollo.'

It is based on the war banner found in the Bayeux tapestry that is similar to many other Viking flags we have records of depicting a raven. These were often believed to bring some sort of magical power to grant victory.

The Runes say:

"Normans: Descendants of Hrolf the Walker" (Rollo's original Norse name)
