This pendant is a replica of the archeological find from Birsay, Orkney Islands, Scotland. The original is dated to the 11th century in the prime age of the Viking settlement of Scottland. The runic inscription shows the Norse nature of the pendant.
Just like the original, our pendant is made from a real bear tooth sources from . We can't be certain what the original pendant was used for during the viking age. However, in the Scandinavian folk tradition from later on in time, bear teeth were worn around the neck to achieve good luck and success on a hunt.
